Our Business

Infrastructure Services Group brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.

Our Branch

Transport Assets and Operations (TAO) has a key role to play in planning and maintaining Council's transport network and in implementing the Transport Plan for Brisbane to enable the efficient and sustainable movement of people and freight.

We are all about keeping Brisbane moving, whether that's by using our road network or riding, walking or scooting along one of our many bikeways and shared paths.

The Role

As a Senior Transport Network Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient and sustainable movement of people and freight across Brisbane. Working within Transport Assets and Operations, you will contribute to planning, monitoring and improving the city’s transport network—whether it’s supporting road operations, enhancing active transport corridors, or ensuring the network operates reliably for the community.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to keeping Brisbane moving. You’ll apply your technical expertise to real-world transport challenges, help deliver network improvements and support Council’s strategic transport goals. Your work will directly influence how residents travel every day and contribute to shaping a more connected, accessible and future‑focused city.

Working closely with engineers, planners, field services, councillors and the community, you’ll contribute to local area traffic management schemes, corridor studies and street improvement projects. The role suits someone who enjoys problem‑solving, balancing technical standards with community needs, and making a visible, positive impact on how people and goods move safely and efficiently around Brisbane.

To be successful you will have:

  • experience supporting transport network operations
  • strong analytical skills to interpret network data and identify improvements
  • sound knowledge of traffic management, road classification, transport legislation, standards and guidelines
  • strong customer service and consultation skills, with the ability to work effectively with the community and councillors
  • ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational stakeholders
  • sound communication skills to provide clear advice and support decision‑making
  • commitment to safety, customer outcomes and continuous improvement
  • well-developed time management skills and the ability to provide guidance to junior staff members.

Benefits of working for Council include:

  • flexible working hours, and flexible arrangements
  • free gym and wellness centre
  • award winning superannuation fund
  • generous leave provisions
  • competitive salary.
