We are seeking a visionary and experienced Principal Operational Technology (OT) Manager to drive delivery excellence, integrate legacy systems with emerging technologies, embed cybersecurity-by-design, and drive cultural and digital change.

Our Branch
Information Services supports and enables all of Council’s day-to-day activities and services through efficient, flexible, and innovative ICT solutions. We lead the ICT strategy that supports the business objectives of Council as a whole, as well as information management and ICT service delivery in Council.

As a strategic Manager, you will be at the forefront in this role with exceptional technical depth, cross-domain leadership, and the ability to influence executive decision-making at the highest level, delivering high-impact initiatives that support Council’s vision for a connected, sustainable, and innovative Brisbane. This role is critical to the success of Information Services Program of Work and plays a key part in strengthening our internal capability under the Corporate Services strategy.

- Transform OT environments: Drive large-scale modernisation of legacy systems into intelligent, digitally integrated ecosystems delivering measurable value to communities.
- Influence at the top: Shape enterprise priorities through strong executive presence and Board-level engagement, aligning IT, operations, engineering, and asset management.
- Design future-ready strategies: Integrate OT with smart infrastructure, digital twins, AI/ML, cloud, and data platforms—bridging technical and organisational divides.
- Champion innovation: Function as a relentless force for modernisation and continuous improvement in traditionally siloed environments.
- Embed security and resilience: Ensure OT architecture aligns with risk posture and regulatory frameworks.
- Build trust and credibility: Engage a wide variety of stakeholders and your team with compelling narratives and data-driven insights.
- Develop high-performing teams: Mentor diverse, cross-disciplinary teams and introduce agile ways of working.
- Balance transformation and operations: Maintain rigour around safety, service continuity, compliance, and cost-efficiency in high-risk, real-time environments.
