City Planning and Economic Development Services develops strategic planning policy, economic strategies, quality urban design creative outcomes and key legislation including the Brisbane City Plan 2014. The Role
The Urban Planner role at Brisbane City Council focuses on delivering high-quality customer service and sustainable development outcomes through efficient planning practices. This developmental position requires managing development applications, interpreting legislation, providing technical advice, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sound development outcomes. The role also involves using electronic systems for application assessments and contributing to a culture of performance excellence within the team.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated ability to contribute to team direction and achieve performance standards effectively
- application of best practices in planning, built environment, and environmental disciplines
- strong workload and priority management skills to handle competing tasks efficiently
- excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation abilities for effective customer interaction
- proficiency in commonly used computer systems and software to streamline processes and tasks.
