The Role
As an Urban Response Team Member, you will work in a field-based role to deliver road corridor maintenance, reduce safety hazards and minor repairs across Brisbane Local Government Area. You will work closely and collaboratively with a team leader in this highly reactive role, take initiative and have good situational awareness that is underscored by a strong safety focus.
Specific duties in this role involves:
- Respond to a vast variety of public safety hazards within the road corridor, including debris, spills, damaged infrastructure, and other environmental or traffic-related risks.
- use relevant tools and equipment to complete road corridor infrastructure maintenance and cleansing activities
- carry out minor construction tasks associated with and road infrastructure including maintenance of existing assets or installation of new assets
- using mobile applications including Field Worker Mobility & Survey 123 to keep records and complete work.
To be considered for this position, you will need to have:
- the ability to carry out and follow instructions out in the field regarding general maintenance and cleaning within the road corridor
- sound communication and interpersonal skills with evidence of being able to operate safely and effectively in an operational team.
- a knowledge of, and the ability to apply. Workplace Health and Safety policy and Council’s Code of Conduct
Note: This role requires a valid MR driver licence and medical assessment for preferred candidates.
