Our Branch and Team
The Information Services Branch (ISB) is tasked with delivering comprehensive digital and information strategies, along with the necessary technologies and leadership, to support and improve Council’s information, processes, and systems. ISB plays a pivotal role in guiding Council’s digital transformation by establishing the strategic direction for how digital technologies can connect and enhance services while streamlining Council operations. Secure Network Services oversees the essential activities involved in managing, maintaining, supporting, deploying, and safeguarding Brisbane City Council's networking and connectivity environments.
The Role
The Secure Network Services Architecture Lead will review, plan and deliver future-proofed digital solution outcomes that meet the current and evolving future requirements of Brisbane City Council and the community it serves. The role will utilise strong business acumen and expert technical role supporting network optimisation, automation, innovation as well as user and value focused improvement across the ICT environment. This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced ICT professional to shape the city’s future secure network services in the lead up to Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
As part of the strategy you will deliver, you will be responsible for collaborating with external vendors and service providers to evaluate and select products, solutions, and technologies to support a network architecture roadmap. You will have a strong focus on maximising availability, stability and performance of the network while identifying trends, reporting and testing solutions and creating reports, recommendations and documentation.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of a strategy which includes complex network infrastructure, emerging technology and a 5 to 10 year vision and design that demonstrates “fit for purpose’ requirements and cost effectiveness.
- demonstrated extensive technical leadership and experience in building and maintaining relationships to influence positive outcomes in a large organisation with multiple stakeholders.
- experience in developing innovative and well-developed outcome-based solutions from conception to deployment, including implementation and ongoing support.
- substantial experience in providing tactical and strategic advice, business acumen, risk management and project management and reporting skills
- demonstrated ability to identify emerging issues through investigation and research, using data and analysis to support problem solving and exercising sound judgement to develop potential options for resolution.
- demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team across multiple work areas and specialities to deliver business improvement outcomes for the residents and visitors of Brisbane.
A qualification in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (or similar) is desirable but not mandatory
