Development Services facilitates high-quality, sustainable development outcomes for Brisbane, through efficient and professional development assessment and management processes, systems and practices.

The Role

As the Branch Support Officer, you’ll play a key role as a proactive, self-starting professional who embodies the Council’s values and delivers exceptionally high-level administrative support to the General Manager and other key stakeholders. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your professional skills and deliver seamless administrative coordination.

Key accountabilities include:

  • coordination of correspondence, file management, word processing and general diary and email management
  • track and coordinate key tasks and responses for the branch to ensure timely completion
  • coordinate General Manager approvals as required, including quality checking and workflow management for briefing notes, memoranda, reports and other documentation
  • provide administrative and logistics support for branch meetings and events
  • stakeholder engagement across a diverse range of groups.

To be successful you will have: 

  • strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • strong experience preparing, editing and proofreading complex written reports, correspondence, memoranda and minutes
  • strong experience to establish and maintain administrative systems, policies, practices and procedure to facilitate efficient delivery of outcomes
  • ability to handle sensitive information
  • proven problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to research and compile information within tight deadlines
  • proficient in Microsoft Office and operational systems.
