Our Business
Infrastructure Services brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.
Our Branch
Planning and Design works with a range of Council program areas to contribute investigation, design and delivery of Council projects such as roads, bikeways, sport fields, drainage and parkland minor upgrades to precinct deliveries.
The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to support the Contaminated Land Services team to deliver projects on or within suspected contaminated land and closed landfill sites through the completion of site investigations, environmental monitoring, site audits and reporting including remediation advice.
The successful candidate will be trained in a range of Council and industry programs as well as a wide range of monitoring equipment and data collection methodologies.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team of experienced environmental and engineering professionals to make a positive difference in Council’s delivery of projects for our community.
To be successful you will have:
- a qualified Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant environmental discipline (Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Management)
- possession of a current ‘C” Class Drivers Licence
- time management, prioritisation, verbal and written communication skills and customer focus
- bonus if you have knowledge of environmental and work health and safety legislation, regulations, guidelines, codes of practice relevant to environmental and human health
