Our Branch 

Infrastructure Services Group (ISG) delivers Council’s asset management, planning, design, construction, maintenance and transport operations. Within ISG, Public Space Operations maintains Brisbane’s parks, roadside corridors and community spaces. About the role  

As a Greenspace Team Member, you will be part of a hands‑on crew responsible for maintaining and developing Brisbane’s parks and roadside landscapes. This role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality workmanship and values being part of a supportive operational team. 

You will work closely with your Team Leader to deliver a variety of horticultural, vegetation management and general maintenance activities that keep Brisbane’s greenspaces healthy, safe and great to use. This will involve weeding, mowing. brush cutting and general cleaning duties with use of minor machinery and mobile plant. 

In this role you will receive on‑the‑job training to grow your skills in horticulture, machinery operation and safe chemical application. 

As Greenspace Team Member you will: 

  • Possess a Certificate of Horticulture (level 3) and/or demonstrated ability and experience in park and landscaped site enhancement, vegetation management and maintenance. 
  • have experienced undertaking a range of horticultural, basic arboriculture and infrastructure maintenance and the use and maintenance of a broad range of machinery, tools and equipment. 
  • have experience in plant identification and application techniques relevant to vegetation control processes. 
  • work collaboratively within a team environment and participate in team decision making. 
  • possess sound interpersonal and verbal skills with the ability to write basic reports. 
  • have sound knowledge of and the ability to apply Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures. 
  • have a customer service focus and maintain a high degree of professionalism in this public facing role.   

Mandatory requirements: 

  • C Class driver licence
