Our Branch
Asphalt and Aggregates oversees the management of Council's quarries and road surfacing operations, including the laying and repair of asphalt pavements, minor pothole repairs and road line marking. The branch consists of three core business units: Road Resurfacing, Asphalt Production and Quarries.
The Role
The Technical Officer, Line Marking supports the Supervisor in the delivery of line marking installation and maintenance programs across Brisbane. The role contributes to the effective, safe and efficient delivery of works in accordance with approved budgets, schedules, quality standards and service specifications, while maintaining a professional, customer‑focused approach. Responsibilities include assessing customer service requests, undertaking site inspections and investigations, providing timely operational feedback to management and field staff, maintaining and updating asset management records and ensuring documentation within the Record Manager (RM) remains current and compliant with Council requirements.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated ability to work safely and in accordance with WH&S, environmental, quality and EEO policies and procedures
- sound technical knowledge of line marking installation and operations, or equivalent experience in a related industry
- ability to interpret plans, undertake investigations and compile technical information and reports
- well‑developed communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and timely information to customers, staff and management
- good planning and organisational skills, including prioritising workflows and field operations
- competent computer skills, including use of office applications and maintenance of asset management systems
- ability to work collaboratively, contribute to team objectives, and meet agreed performance standards in support of a culture of continuous improvement
- possession of a Cert III in Civil Construction
- a C Class and MR Drivers’ Licence.
A Certificate 3 in Line Marking and experience in using SAP, Ms Office and mapping systems are desirable not mandatory.
