The Role

Are you passionate about shaping high-performing organisations and helping leaders navigate change?

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Principal Officer Change, Performance & Capability to lead Customer Services' approach to organisational performance, workforce capability, culture, wellbeing and innovation.

In this influential role, you will partner with senior leaders to drive initiatives that strengthen organisational effectiveness and support the delivery of Customer Services' strategic priorities.

You will lead the development and continuous improvement of frameworks, governance arrangements, measures and ways of working that support performance, capability, culture and change across the group. As a trusted advisor, you will provide expert guidance on organisational design, workforce planning, leadership capability and change impacts, ensuring the business is well positioned to meet current and future challenges.

You will play a key role in shaping a positive and inclusive workplace culture by leading initiatives that improve employee engagement, diversity, wellbeing and leadership effectiveness. Working across Customer Services and the broader organisation, you will use data and insights to identify opportunities for improvement, influence strategic decision-making and deliver sustainable outcomes that enhance both employee and customer experiences.

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated ability to role model Council's Leadership Blueprint, advising executive stakeholders on organisational redesign, strategic workforce planning and workforce capability to meet evolving service requirements and investment levels
  • demonstrated experience leading complex, psychosocially safe and compliant organisational change processes that deliver sustainable business outcomes
  • demonstrated experience coaching executives, people leaders, initiative leaders and individual contributors to plan, communicate and embed effective people change
  • demonstrated experience analysing employee engagement and workforce data, working with leaders to design targeted action programs and monitoring their delivery and impact
  • proven ability to strengthen organisational performance, culture, diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and leadership effectiveness in a large and complex organisation
  • strong governance, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive organisation-wide outcomes.
