Position Title: Conservation Management Trainee

Salary Range: $695.30 - $948.10 per week plus super  

Work type: Temporary Full Time 

Duration: Up to 12 months 

Commencing: May/June 2025 


Are you an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person passionate about caring for Country and protecting the environment? 

Brisbane City Council’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traineeship Pathway program will provide you with hands-on conservation experience while gaining a Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management. This is a chance to connect with Country, restore natural landscapes, and develop a career in environmental management.

What we’re looking for:

  • Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Passion for caring for Country and protecting nature.
  • Reliable and willing to learn.
  • Committed to completing training modules throughout the year.
  • Able to travel across Brisbane (some locations may not be serviced by public transport).

After completing the traineeship, you’ll have:

  •  A nationally recognised qualification (Cert II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management).
  • Hands-on experience in conservation projects.
  • The skills to apply for roles within Council or beyond.
