Our Branch
The Bus Assistant Refuelers are a part of Transport for Brisbane which operates from seven bus depots across the greater Brisbane metropolitan area. Council’s bus depots ensure efficient operation of its bus fleet and include on-site maintenance, cleaning and refuelling, scheduling and rostering of drivers.
Each depot has a Garage Services Team that provides mechanical and non-mechanical bus maintenance to ensure the bus fleet is maintained to a high standard to meet public safety requirements and keep buses on the road. The depot locations are:
- Carina
- Eagle Farm
- Garden City / Mt Gravatt
- Sherwood
- Toowong
- Virginia
- Willawong
There are several refueler roles available across our depots. Day, afternoon and night shift roles are available. Working in a team of several refuelers and mechanics, the Bus Assistants Refuelers are responsible for the refuelling of 150+ Council buses.
To be successful you must have the following skills and experience:
- experience in performing basic routine vehicle maintenance including inspecting tyres, checking oil and lubrication, refuelling, cleaning and maintaining the general condition of vehicles
- current HR Licence or the ability to obtain
- strong track record of delivering quality work on time to tight deadlines
- strong focus on Workplace Health & Safety
- ability to work well in a team environment
- competent computer skills
- the ability to contribute to rostered overtime on the weekends.
