Salary Range: Band 5 $98,778 - $111,969 + Superannuation (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Work type: Temporary Full-time

Duration: Up to 18 months (Extension/s thereafter but not guaranteed)

The Role

 Are you a highly organised professional who excels at coordinating people, processes and information in a dynamic environment? Brisbane City Council is seeking an experienced administrator and coordinator within the City Resilience Branch.

In this pivotal role, you will manage complex administrative workflows, support senior stakeholders, and navigate competing priorities with confidence. You will apply your strong understanding of Council governance, policy and procedures to deliver timely, high‑quality support while operating autonomously in an environment where priorities can shift quickly in response to emerging issues and events.

This role is ideal for an organised, adaptable and agile professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment and brings a strong understanding of Council governance, policy and processes. You will operate with a high level of autonomy, manage competing priorities, and contribute to a culture of performance excellence that supports Brisbane’s resilience now and into the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • provide high‑level administrative and coordination support across the Operational Support Team.
  • manage and prioritise competing tasks in a high‑paced, operational environment
  • coordinate stakeholder engagement, correspondence, reporting, maintenance and approvals workflows.
  • apply sound judgement and a strong understanding of Council governance, policy and processes
  • support business operations that contribute to city resilience, emergency preparedness and response
  • operate autonomously while contributing to a culture of professionalism, accountability and performance excellence

To be successful you will have:

  • highly developed administrative, coordination and organisational skills
  • strong time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities
  • proven experience working with diverse stakeholders in complex environments
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • a well‑developed understanding of Council governance, policy, processes and approvals
  • the ability to work independently, exercise initiative and maintain high performance standards
  • a passion for process efficiency and improvement.

This role requires active participation in the City Resilience Branch Duty Officer roster and undergo essential training. This includes an on-call roster, reasonable after-hours activities and overtime when required by business needs and/or disaster events.
