The Role
As the Pipe Survey Coordinator, you will lead the Pipe Survey Team, overseeing the planning, delivery and reporting for stormwater drainage inspections.
You will be responsible for ensuring your team meets operational and safety standards while providing coaching, professional development, and technical guidance.
In this role, you will manage the execution of planned and reactive surveys, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
- lead performance excellence and a values-based culture in line with Council’s Leadership Blueprint
- work in partnership with your team leader to meet performance standards, provide regular feedback, and take ownership of personal and team performance
- supervise, coach, train, and develop team members to ensure efficient operations and high-quality customer service
- coordinate the planning, monitoring, and delivery of stormwater drainage inspections, ensuring resources are used effectively and on schedule
- package, scope, cost estimate, and manage the delivery of pipe survey programs within budget and procurement guidelines
- create and maintain project files for stormwater drainage assets, ensuring data accuracy and proper integration into the corporate system
- build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring reliable service delivery and meeting business requirements
- provide advice on contractor engagement, administration, and payment processes, resolving disputes efficiently
- offer substantial technical advice on complex stormwater issues, including reporting, sketches, and data retrieval
- stay up-to-date with the Council’s asset management systems and provide support for system enhancements
- promote Zero Harm by adhering to WH&S legislation and policies, ensuring safety and continuous improvement practices
- ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant policies, legislation, and industry standards.
To be successful you will have:
- ability to deliver performance excellence and foster a values-based culture, in alignment with Council's Leadership Blueprint
- extensive experience in coordinating, planning, and delivering both reactive and planned operational activities, utilizing internal and contracted resources
- strong leadership skills, including setting clear expectations, providing support, feedback, and monitoring performance to drive team success
- in-depth knowledge of stormwater drainage asset management and leadership of inspection practices, including the operation of closed-circuit television for surveying stormwater systems and using GIS technology
- ability to identify and implement improvements in business processes, including workplace health and safety procedures, to achieve measurable business outcomes.
- excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and conflict management abilities to ensure effective stakeholder communication
- proficiency in corporate software applications, including Brismap, Wincan, and SAP, or the ability to quickly gain expertise
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent, or equivalent competencies gained through structured training and experience (would be highly regarded)
