If you’re looking for a new challenge, our nationally recognised Electrotechnology Apprenticeship Program offers the opportunity to gain practical skills, hands-on experience, and a secure future in a high demand trade.

About the role:

As an apprentice, you’ll work on real projects with our Trade Services team, who maintain Council-owned properties across Brisbane. You’ll develop the skills and knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, wiring, and component installation

Your work may include:

  • fixing and maintaining electrical systems and lighting in Council buildings, from quick repairs to scheduled maintenance
  • helping on projects in places like parks, gardens, libraries, community halls and public spaces
  • learning on the job with experienced plumbers while studying at TAFE

 You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • a genuine interest in the electrical industry and a passion for hands-on work
  • strong problem-solving skills, technical aptitude, and attention to detail
  • a solid foundation in maths and literacy, ideally at Year 10 level or above
  • commitment to safe work practices in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Eexcellent communication skills and a willingness to listen, learn, and follow instructions
  • a team-focused attitude, taking pride in your work and contributing positively
  • a current Driver’s Licence
  • completion of a Certificate II in Electrotechnology
  • The ability to work in confined spaces and at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
