Salary Range: Band 7 - $127,965.00 - $139,905.00 per annum plus 14% superannuation

Infrastructure Services brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.

Our Branch

The Commercial Services & Business Improvement (CSBI) Branch's purpose is to drive improvement, agility, and resilience, by providing support to City Standards (CS) and more broadly across Infrastructure (IS), making it easier and safer to deliver outcomes for the community.

The Role

Lead a team of safety professionals in a high-risk construction heavy, operational environment to maintain legal compliance, implement contemporary safety practices and improve WHS outcomes across Infrastructure Services. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) within Infrastructure Services. Monitor trends and ensure legislation compliance, driving the direction of WHS policies. Support and refine a Safety management framework, promote contemporary safety best practices, and support safety audits.

The role requires a leader, who will develop and inspire a larger team of safety professionals to prioritise outcomes and uphold IS Safety management system. The role includes both strategic and operational functions and works across a diverse range of stakeholders.

To be successful you will have:

  • capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence
  • extensive knowledge of Acts, Regulations, Standards and Guidelines pertaining to Workplace Health & Safety and Worker’s Compensation
  • proven ability to develop and implement strategic contemporary safety initiatives
  • ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams in complex organisations
  • expert interpersonal skills, to manage and influence organisational change, to develop and lead high performing teams
  • a C class drivers’ licence is a mandatory requirement for this role.
