Our Branch
Information Services branch (ISB) delivers digital and information technologies to maintain and enhance Council’s information, processes and systems, and enable data driven insights to improve decision-making and customer experience.
This Role
The Deskside Support Specialist role is an essential frontline function of the great work the ICT Service Operations team deliver. Reporting to the End User Devices Technical Services Manager, this role is responsible for delivering high quality level two onsite technical support to users of Council ICT devices and software.
This role contributes to the ongoing implementation, maintenance and documentation of ICT operational procedures and is responsible for providing ICT service, advice and guidance to end users across Council ensuring their engagement with Council ICT is a positive experience.
In addition, the successful applicant will also Provide specialised technical advice for system and process improvements, changes, enhancements and upgrades for end user computing platforms and technologies whilst maintaining professional and collaborative working relationships with customers, key stakeholders and vendors within Council.
To be successful you will have:
- the ability to analyse, diagnose and resolve complex ICT issues in an end user environment and experience in providing advanced and specialised ICT trouble shooting advice
- demonstrated experience in researching and maintaining advanced technical understanding and experience in the support and delivery of end user computing technologies and platforms
- demonstrated experience supporting a complex suite of virtual computing and device management technologies, including administering and troubleshooting virtual desktop and end‑user computing environments
- demonstrated organisational management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage incidents and tasks aligned to ITIL and agreed SLA’s
- strong communication and stakeholder management skills with demonstrated experience to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues, resolve issues or conflict, communicate in a clear and concise manner
