Salary Range: $ 1,468.60 per week + Superannuation (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Our Branch

The Engineering and Asset Management Branch is responsible for bus maintenance (both first-line at depots and second-line at Toowong Workshops), establishing and managing fleet maintenance policies, procuring fleet assets, maintaining electrical charging infrastructure, investigating incidents, managing non-bus assets and facilities, overseeing major projects, and coordinating IT requirements for the division.

The Role  

The Store Person supports the efficient maintenance of Brisbane City Council's bus fleet by ensuring spare parts, materials and equipment are available when needed. Working closely with maintenance teams and suppliers, you will manage inventory, coordinate purchasing, maintain accurate records and help deliver cost-effective operational outcomes in a fast-paced environment

What You'll Bring

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong administration and data entry skills, with confidence using systems such as SAP, RM and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach.
  • An interest in mechanical operations, or the ability to quickly develop an understanding of maintenance processes and terminology
  • Commitment to safety and following workplace procedures.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on getting the job done right
  • Current C class Driver’s licence
  • Current Forklift Licence / or in the process of obtaining

Desirable:

  •  A Current MR Driver’s Licence
  •  Relevant qualifications or sound working experience in a mechanical, body or electrical trade.
  • Experience in stores and inventory management.
  • Certificate III in Warehousing Operations, a Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)

This role will require a Criminal History Check. You may also be required to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment to assess your ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the role.
