Our Business

Brisbane is Australia's fastest growing city. Brisbane City Council (BCC) administers an area of 1,343 square kilometres, supporting a population of over 2.7 million people and is experiencing rapid growth. The Warehouse and Logistics Team within Support Services, Payment and Supply Services stream are responsible for the warehousing, receiving and distribution of goods across multiple locations throughout Council’s operations. 

The Role

Based in Eagle Farm at our Regional Operations Centre, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised Warehouse Manager to join our team.

This role will see you managing the daily operations of a medium scale warehouse with a small yet busy team. Reporting to the Warehouse & Logistics Operations Manager, you will be accountable for all aspects of inventory management, ensuring smooth and efficient operational flow whilst driving our ZeroHarm safety culture.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • manage and lead the warehouse work unit to ensure a productive, committed and skilled team
  • work closely with inventory managers to assist in optimisation of inventory levels whilst maintaining accurate system records to facilitate with physical stock holdings
  • liaise and or negotiate with internal and external customers regarding the supply of goods and services
  • implement business and associated plans, systems and processes as they relate to this work unit.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture.
  • Demonstrated ability in effective operation and management of a warehouse in a large, complex environment using modern systems and technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage staff to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with customers, suppliers and staff, and develop networks.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage conflicting demands and prioritise urgent customer requests.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to a ZeroHarm workforce and ability to drive team goals and a ‘safety first’ culture,

 Desirable:

  • While not mandatory, a current C class Drivers License and Forklift License would complement this role
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance, the Council’s EEO policy and relevant Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental protection policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of Council’s Divisions, Business Units and internal providers and their distributed locations.
  • Knowledge of Council’s Computerised ERP Systems
  • Experience in a commercial environment with a “customer first” culture.
