People and Culture covers all matters relating to the employment, retention and development, partnering with Support Services and colleagues across the organisation to achieve outcomes. These include maintaining and improving the capabilities of Council's people to build a highly capable, effective and engaged workforce, and supporting Council's processes, systems and communication.
The Role
You will be working with a small, tight knit, collaborative and supportive team known as City WorkCover. The role provides opportunities to regularly connect with other departments to build positive relationships and contribute to Council’s vision. City WorkCover is one of the Employee Wellbeing teams that support our workers holistically. We are seeking someone who is agile in their service delivery to customers in relation to matters such as return to work, maintenance of effective rehabilitation practices, and a high standard of claims management.
As an Injury Management Advisor with Council, you will:
- work collaboratively with the claims advisors to enhance injury management outcomes, which includes ensuring effective injury management plans are developed and maintained on claims
- monitor and develop strategies to support compliance with workers’ compensation legislation, self-insurance licence, and Council’s requirements pertaining to rehabilitation
- contribute to the development and improvement of procedures and work practices
- educate and inform team members of City WorkCover and to other levels of the organisation in relation to rehabilitation
- develop effective working and partnering arrangements with clients and stakeholders, both internal and external, to foster organisational learning and enhance injury management outcomes.
To be successful you will have:
- knowledge of Queensland Workers Compensation legislation and familiarity with the self-insurance environment
- extensive practical experience in occupational rehabilitation case management practice
- ability to research and identify trends, patterns and issues and effectively develop a range of strategic rehabilitation initiatives relative to council’s business environment and within regulatory requirements.
- successful experience in developing positive collaborative working relationships with clients, peers and team members through high level communication and negotiation skills and deal with sensitive information in an appropriate manner.
- demonstrated experience in documented planning and coordination of end-to-end rehabilitation case management to achieve corporate and business outcomes
- university level qualifications in an allied health, rehabilitation, case management or related discipline.
