Our Branch

Strategic Communication and Engagement leads, develops, implements, advises on and evaluates all external communication for the whole of Brisbane City Council.​ Teams across the branch collaborate to plan, drive and deliver strategic and innovate communication plans for a program areas.

Our Team

Group Account Management is a highly skilled team that specialises in project management, stakeholder relationships, communication strategy and implementation. The team partners with program areas across Council (the client) and collaborates with the wider Strategic Communication and Engagement branch to solve problems, identify opportunities and deliver consistent, successful communication outcomes, building trusted relationships to protect Council’s reputation and enable better results for Council and residents.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Account Coordinator to support the delivery of strategic communication projects and campaigns.

Working closely with Account Leads, clients and specialist communication teams, you will be the go-to contact for our clients. This role is pivotal in managing stakeholder relationships, ensuring smooth communication between clients and internal teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring high-quality outcomes that support effective and transparent engagement with our community.

In this role, you will lead communication planning and support end-to-end project management. You will help manage multiple projects across allocated service groups, build positive working relationships with clients and internal teams, prepare briefs and reports, coordinate the development of communication materials, and ensure all deliverables meet organisational standards, timelines and budgets.

This is an excellent opportunity for a communication professional looking to further develop their account management, project coordination and stakeholder relationship skills.

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated ability to contribute positively to team success by collaborating effectively, embracing feedback, and achieving agreed performance outcomes within a values-based culture
  • proven experience building and maintaining strong customer or client relationships, ideally within a communications, marketing, public relations or agency environment
  • ability to understand client requirements, contribute to communication planning, and coordinate the delivery of projects across multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • highly developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing demands, monitor project progress, prioritise workloads, and maintain accurate records
  • demonstrated experience in developing communication plans and strategies, including campaign background, communication objectives, target audiences, sharing key messaging and insights as part of the briefing process
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prepare high-quality reports, presentations, updates and client-facing materials
  • demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify risks or issues, recommend practical solutions, and escalate matters appropriately when required
  • experience preparing clear and accurate briefs, correspondence, status reports and project documentation to support effective communication and account management activities
  • proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, contribute to a customer-focused team environment, and consistently deliver high standards of service.
