Infrastructure Services (ISG) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.

Our Branch

We provide full lifecycle management of fleet assets, helping Council to deliver services to the city of Brisbane.

Our fleet includes a large range of assets including but not limited to: cars, trucks, trailers, mobile lunchrooms, boats, excavators, road sweepers, forklifts, buggy's, pumps, generators, chainsaws, blowers, whipper snippers and mowers. 

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Workshop Assistant to support the efficient operation of fleet maintenance, servicing, and repairs.

In this hands-on role, you’ll help prepare parts, vehicles, and workshop setups to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the maintenance team. You’ll also provide daily transport services for Fleet customers, helping minimise downtime and contributing to a high standard of service delivery across Council operations.

As part of the Fleet Maintenance team, you’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate stock control, organising materials and parts, and assisting with the collection and distribution of workshop items.

You’ll work closely with your team leader and colleagues to uphold Council’s customer service, safety, and operational standards while applying best-practice logistics processes.

To be successful you will have:

  • ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence
  • experience in computerised logistics operations (ie SAP) system including warehousing, distribution and transport and courier services.
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
  • proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver excellent customer service.
  • well-organised with the ability to manage multiple and competing demands effectively
  • driver’s licence.
