Our Branch

Support Services provides Council's key support functions under a centralised model, ensuring efficient back-of-house operations so that more resources can be focused on front-line service delivery. We provide a wide range of support to all areas of Council, playing a crucial role in driving operational success across the organisation. 

The Role

As the Principal Business Improvement Lead, you will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives across Employee Services (ES). Working closely with the Optimisation and Performance Manager and team, you will lead initiatives that enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer experience.

In this role, you will build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, business process owners, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and implement change. Your role will involve conducting detailed analysis of current processes, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, and designing solutions that align with Council’s strategic priorities and governance frameworks.

This is a strategic and hands-on role for an experienced business improvement professional with a business analyst mindset and strong stakeholder engagement experience. Your ability to influence, communicate effectively, and manage complex stakeholder environments will be critical to your success.

To be successful you will have: 

  • strong analytical, problem-solving, and delivery skills to drive creative process improvements and achieve strategic business outcomes that exceed customer expectations
  • strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and consultation skills appropriate for engaging all levels of the organisation
  • experienced in building BPM capability and delivering process improvements that add value for the organisation and customers
  • expert in business process analysis and design using BPMN and recognised BPI methodologies
  • proven leadership capabilities consistent with Council’s Leadership Blueprint.
