Public Transport Services brings together Commercial and Contract Services, Engineering and Asset Management, Strategy and Network Services, and Transport Operations. From buses and ferries to CityCats, Metro, and e-mobility options such as e-bikes and e-scooters, these branches collectively keep Brisbane moving by managing a diverse transport network.
Public Transport Services operates one of Australia’s largest public transport enterprises to cater for the needs of Brisbane’s travelling public and visitors to the city. We help to facilitate up to 238,000 journeys for residents and visitors to Brisbane every day, with fleet comprising more than 1,250 buses.

The Role
We have two permanent full-time opportunities at our Sherwood and Rochedale Depots and two temporary full-time opportunities at our, Toowong and Willawong Depots.
Our Depot Operations Team Leaders are an integral part of the Depot Leadership Team. You will lead and mentor a team of approximately eighty bus operators to continue to transform our business into a world class operation.
You will be the main point of contact for Bus Operators to lead, monitor and guide on issues such as leave, legislation, rostering and development opportunities, ensuring customer service and safety standards are maintained to the highest levels.
Your leadership and connection skills will be critical as you work in close partnership with other depot staff, bus operators, TransLink and the Depot Manager to develop a high performing and successful team.
To be successful you will have:
- Strong people leadership experience aligning to Council’s Leadership Blueprint with expertise to develop and maintain a high performing operational team
- demonstrated ability to coach, support and develop employees to achieve or exceed expected behaviours
- ability to build trusted relationships, support individual growth and creates a positive, inclusive team culture
- highly developed written, verbal, interpersonal and negotiation skills to maximise customer and employee satisfaction
- demonstrated ability in resource management, meeting budget and operational deliverables in a transport environment
- proven experience in analysing and interpreting data to make recommendations to drive cost efficiencies and improvements
- demonstrated capability to lead a strong safety culture by maintaining high hazard awareness, ensure timely reporting and resolution of incidents, and uphold Zero Harm and compliance requirements
