A Brisbane City Council Business traineeship will provide you the opportunity to kick start your career in business while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.  At Council, our people are dedicated to a better Brisbane, and everyone is supported to grow and develop both personally and professionally.  

As a Business Trainee you will receive in-class training, professional development and on-the-job-learning with experienced trainers and mentors and be involved in a range of administrative support tasks.  

We have opportunities in various teams throughout Council, with a wide range of core business activities such as responding to customer enquiries, data entry and file uploads, ICT service centre tasks, processing fee payments.  For further information on the tasks and activities, please click on the task by team link.

Our trainees work within a customer focussed environment to learn and develop computer skills and assist with team goals. If you are motivated to learn, curious, enjoy helping people and take pride in and ownership of your work, we encourage you to apply. 

Minimum requirements and considerations for the role:

·        committed to completing your training modules through the year

·        reliable and organised

·        good communication skills.

This role may require a Criminal History Check.

 After completing your formal training and hands-on learning you will have:

·        a nationally recognised qualification (Cert III Business)

·        valuable work experience

·        developed your communication and self-management skills

·        developed a new social and professional network

·        gained a solid grounding and skill set to apply for future roles within Brisbane City Council or other organisation.
