Our Branch 

The Business Engagement and Performance Branch operate across Council as a strategic partner and standard-setter, empowering the organisation to deliver exceptional community and organisational value through enterprise strategy-to-execution alignment, good governance, and service and process excellence. The branch builds Council’s capacity to manage performance, portfolios and change to deliver desired outcomes for the city and adapt to future demand and growth. 

The Role 

As the Methodology and Standards Lead, you will shape and steward Council’s enterprise project, program and portfolio management methodologies within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). You will lead the development, uplift and governance of project and change management frameworks, standards and tools that underpin consistent, high‑quality delivery across all Council projects and investments. In this role, you will partner with senior leaders, practitioners and stakeholders to embed best‑practice approaches that strengthen delivery confidence, support investment governance and enhance accountability across the organisation. 

You will operate as a subject‑matter specialist and trusted adviser, guiding the organisation toward a mature, data‑driven, fit‑for‑purpose project and change management environment. Your work will directly support the EPMO’s mandate to increase value delivery, improve cross‑organisational consistency and enable strategic alignment through structured governance, assurance, and portfolio oversight 

To be successful you will have: 

  • significant practical experience managing complex projects and leading PMO functions within a large, complex organisation, including driving process improvement and maturing project and change management practices. 
  • a proven ability to manage change and ambiguity, applying an inquisitive mindset and creativity alongside deep expertise to think broadly, resolve complex issues and support the organisation through evolving ways of working.
