The Construction Branch delivers a broad range of infrastructure projects and construction services that support Brisbane's current and future needs. Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and consultant partners, the branch is responsible for delivering safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes for the community.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced construction professional to lead teams delivering maintenance services across Brisbane's bridges and major structural assets.

As a Senior Works Supervisor - Bridges, you will coordinate day-to-day operations, supervise crews, manage plant and equipment resources and ensure projects are delivered safely on time and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with operational teams, contractors, service authorities and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, environmental compliance and customer service.

This role involves night and weekend works, overtime and inclusion in an on-call roster. This provides the incumbent significant earning potential in line with fatigue management principles.

You will play a key role in identifying risks, resolving issues, coordinating resources and driving continuous improvement while supporting the maintenance of critical infrastructure that keeps Brisbane moving.

To be successful you will have:

• demonstrated experience leading operational work teams within a civil construction, heritage bridge maintenance or infrastructure environment
• strong knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and a commitment to maintaining safe work practices
• sound understanding of bridge maintenance, civil construction activities and the deployment of plant, equipment and materials
• highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
• proven ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced operational environment.
