The Business
Corporate Services support, equip and help guide Council to deliver the Brisbane Vision through centralised corporate services and a customer-focused approach.
Information Services branch (ISB) supports and enables Council’s day-to-day activities and services through efficient, flexible and innovative ICT solutions. We lead the ICT strategy that supports Council’s business objectives, information management, and ICT service delivery.
The Role
The Branch Strategy and Governance Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of branch strategy and governance functions.
In this role you will contribute to the overall management, operation, and strategic direction of the Information Services Branch (ISB).
You will be a highly collaborative and proactive leader who can engage with and influence leaders across ISB and provide critical information and advice to the Senior Leadership Team.
This role requires a considerable knowledge and experience of IT and digital governance functions and business planning skills. You will have experience in strategic framework development and implementation and have exceptional interpersonal and communications skills.
We are looking for a highly experienced leader with a continuous improvement mindset who can partner with key stakeholders across ISB to drive and help deliver ISB’s corporate plan.
In this role you will:
- provide professional opinion and judgement
- develop, facilitate implementation and maintain ISB’s branch strategy and governance framework
- management of strategic branch performance and reporting
- build, develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior managers within ISB and across Council
- identify and manage emerging issues and risks
- research, write, and edit correspondence, presentations, reports and submissions.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated evidence of leadership capabilities
- demonstrated experience in providing high quality professional advice, interpretation and information to senior management
- high level analytical, research and problem solving skills
- demonstrated ability in strategic and business planning with detailed knowledge of the IT and digital governance functions
- proven high level knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of strategic framework development and implementation
- strong consultation and communication skills.
