The Role
This is a unique opportunity to be part of one of the busiest planning and environment litigation practices in Queensland and work alongside an experienced and established team in the conduct of Planning and Environment Court litigation.
In this role you will provide strategic advice and Court representation to Council in the conduct of a large volume of Planning and Environment Court proceedings, whilst receiving mentorship and guidance from the highly regarded planning and environment group within City Legal’s Planning and Development Team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an early career lawyer looking to take on a challenge and to gain far more on-the-ground experience than their peers.
We are looking for a highly collaborative and motivated solicitor with highly developed communication skills looking to build their career and to develop a speciality in planning and development law.
To be successful you will have:
- be admitted to practise as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland
- hold or be eligible to hold a current Practising Certificate from the Queensland Law Society
- knowledge and/or interest in planning and environmental law
- excellent negotiation and mediation skills
- have highly developed communication, organisational and prioritisation skills
- have demonstrated ability in managing conflicting deadlines
- have exceptional attention to detail
- maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Prior planning and development and/or litigation experience is preferred but not essential.
