Our Branch
Support Services provides Council's key support functions under a centralised model, ensuring efficient back-of-house operations so that more resources can be focused on front-line service delivery. We provide a wide range of support to all areas of Council, playing a crucial role in driving operational success across the organisation.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced leader to own and elevate our end‑to‑end Accounts Receivable operations within Finance Operations. In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of invoicing, billing, collections, and debt management, ensuring seamless day‑to‑day service delivery while driving meaningful improvements across the function.
You’ll lead and develop a high‑performing team, manage operational resources, and confidently resolve complex issues that require sound judgement and stakeholder collaboration. Beyond keeping the wheels turning, you’ll champion continuous improvement—streamlining processes, strengthening controls, and embedding best‑practice AR standards.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll balance operational excellence with strategic thinking, playing a key part in supporting broader business outcomes while fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.
To be successful you will have:
- relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related discipline
- strong financial and business acumen and analytical skills
- demonstrated experience delivering high‑quality reporting, advice and insights across strategic, policy, accounting and operational matters in complex environments
- extensive leadership experience, with the ability to set clear direction, support performance, and provide ongoing feedback
- demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues in sensitive environments, applying discretion and sound decision‑making
- excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leaders and key stakeholders
- proven leadership capabilities consistent with Council’s Leadership Blueprint.
