Our Branch

Support Services provides Council's efficient back-of-house support to allow for more resources to be focused on Council’s front-line service delivery. Support Services provides a wide range of support to all areas of Council, including information management, financial management, employee services and payment and supply services.

The Role

As a Solution Centre Consultant, you will be the first point of contact to provide advice, support and guidance to Council employees. You will liaise with key stakeholders within council to resolve enquiries based on policies, procedures and guidelines relating to human resources, finance, procurement, and assets and works. Working as a part of a wider team, this role plays an important role in maintaining the quality, currency and accuracy of the knowledge base and investigating complex customer issues.

You will work coordinate and manage customer enquiries, ensuring all interactions are accurately recorded and knowledge resources remain current and reliable. As a valued team member, you will support and guide colleagues, role model strong customer‑focused behaviours, and encourage collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing. The role requires a high level of integrity and discretion, alongside a proactive approach to feedback, performance improvement, and continuous development within Council.

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated experience in a high-volume customer service environment, using negotiation problem solving skills to resolve complex issues
  • ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • strong communication skills with customers and stakeholders
  • ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and maintain attention to detail while managing a high-volume of requests
  • a collaborative approach within a team and the ability to give and receive feedback
  • sufficient computer skills with business systems and databases.

The ability to apply internal procedures and policies is desirable but not essential.
