About Us
Financial Management and Operations is part of the Support Services Branch. The team provides Council with accurate and timely financial information to support decision making, through budgeting, planning, and reporting, forecasting, and modelling to enable effective business performance management.
The range of services provided by Financial Management and Operations includes budgeting, forecasting, management accounting, reporting, asset accounting, receipting, debt management, revenue management of fees and charges, collections, systems and technology functions, and the onboarding of new credit customers for Council's commercial businesses.
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Coordinator to join our close-knit and collaborative team. In this position you will work in close partnership with our divisions and business units in delivering financial, asset and/or managerial accounting services including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting.
You will be a trusted strategic advisor who adds value by providing accurate and timely financial information to support decision making processes that drive business performance, enabling our customers to deliver Brisbane’s Vision outcomes in a fiscally responsible way. To be successful in the role you will have exceptional customer service and client relationship skills, strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability in working collaboratively to achieve business outcomes.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to apply your experience across a broad range of accounting and finance responsibilities, identifying and implementing business improvements and advocating new business process solutions within SAP.
About You
To be successful you will have:
- substantial experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- demonstrated ability to provide strategic business advice on a wide range of complex financial and accounting matters
- proven track record of working collaboratively with senior management to drive and implement business improvements, underpinned by a strong continuous improvement ethos and experience in process automation
- highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- strong organisational, time management and prioritisation capabilities
- exceptional customer service and client relationship skills, aligned with our values and supporting a One Council approach
- proven leadership capabilities consistent with Council’s Leadership Blueprint.
Ideally, you will hold a qualification in accounting or a related business discipline, along with membership in a recognised professional accounting body. Experience with SAP is highly regarded.
