Personnel Area: Infrastructure Services

Duration: Contract – 4 years
Shape the future of Brisbane’s $39 billion asset base by leading the development and implementation of long-term asset management strategies and policies. This is a career-defining opportunity to drive transformation, uplift capability, and deliver public value in one of Australia’s largest local governments.
Infrastructure Services (ISG) brings together Brisbane City Council’s asset management, planning, design, project management, construction, maintenance and transport operations. The Asset Management Branch oversees the strategic management of all built and natural assets, including roads, stormwater, waterways, buildings, property, parks and community assets, to maximise value for the community in line with Brisbane Vision 2031. The branch leads governance, policy development, prioritisation and strategic advice across Council’s asset management system, managing a $39 billion asset base and delivering exemplary professional support and technical expertise.
As Manager Strategic Infrastructure Asset Planning, you will lead the development and implementation of long-term asset management strategies, policies and processes to optimise Council’s $39 billion asset base. This role drives continuous improvement and advances asset management maturity, providing high-level advice to executive leadership and integrating asset planning with financial planning. You will oversee lifecycle modelling, risk frameworks and TOTEX planning for major infrastructure assets, while leveraging technology and data analytics to inform decisions. Success requires senior-level asset management leadership, expertise in strategic planning and change management, strong financial and risk management capability, and exceptional stakeholder engagement, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and ideally professional membership such as Engineers Australia and RPEQ registration. Above all, you will be an empathetic and inspiring leader who empowers and supports your people, builds strong relationships, asks the right questions, and demonstrates care and commitment to the organisation. Your ability to problem-solve in unfamiliar situations and lead with honesty and openness will be key to driving outcomes and delivering results.
Due to the requirements of this role a criminal history and business checks will be undertaken on preferred applicants. A criminal history does not necessarily preclude an applicant from appointment.
