The Business

​​​​​​​Corporate Services support, equip and help guide Council to deliver the Brisbane Vision through centralised corporate services and a customer-focused approach.

Information Services branch (ISB) delivers digital and information technologies to maintain and enhance Council’s information, processes and systems, and enable data driven insights to improve decision-making and customer experience.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Role

The Senior Business Analyst will undertake and lead business analysis to deliver ICT solutions for business problems in a dynamic, evolving environment.

This role requires considerable analytical skills and extensive experience working with various businesses delivering services in a highly complex organisation.

You will engage various customers and stakeholders to understand their business and its current state. Through the recommendation of an ICT enhancement or procurement solutions you will help move their business to a future state of enhanced customer service, efficiency or effectiveness.

We are looking for a highly experienced business analyst who can partner effortlessly with a variety of business units and deliver comprehensive business analysis and effective ICT solutions.

In this role you will:

  • engage stakeholders to enable comprehensive elicitation and analysis of business problems, process and improvements desired
  • contribute to, and influence the development of preliminary high level options
  • expand and document business and functional requirements
  • influence customers and technical staff
  • contribute to the development of best practice business analysis standards and processes
  • participate in the planning, management and ongoing measuring of team and individual performance.

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated ability as a Business Analyst on complex ICT projects
  • highly developed interpersonal communication skills
  • demonstrated experience in coordination and delivery of substantial business analysis and solution conceptualisation
  • expert analytical and diagnostic skills with extensive experience in process, cost benefits and business systems analysis
  • extensive experience in the evaluation and assessment of tenders and contracts
  • demonstrated ability to understand business needs and established business processes.
