We deliver the best GIS solutions in the world, with the brightest minds on the map.

What are the issues that matter most to you? Climate change, national security, disaster response?

At Esri Australia you'll work alongside people at the forefront of these issues, connect them with the best tech and solutions, and get an inside look at the real-world challenges shaping our future.

We turn problems into opportunities, and that takes two things:

  • The most powerful GIS technology and solutions.
  • Driven, talented, and passionately curious people.

Here we bring the two together, and that's how we achieve incredible things for communities, economies and your career.

About the Role

Every great story starts with curiosity. The best ones are rarely the obvious - instead they're found by asking one more question, listening closely and noticing what others miss.

GIS is full of those stories. The technology quietly shapes so much of everyday life, but behind it are the people, ideas and moments that make it interesting. We need someone curious enough to find them and creative enough to tell them.

That’s where you come in. As our next Communications and Content Specialist, you’ll join an Integrated Communications team that’s always on the hunt for the next great story. You’ll uncover what makes it interesting and bring it to life across different formats and channels.

Working closely with marketing, sales, customer success, HR and regional teams, you'll create and coordinate content across multiple channels, manage content workflows, and play a key role in our customer success, employee value proposition and thought leadership programs.

You don’t need to be passionate about GIS. You need to be passionate about storytelling, curious about what makes people tick, and excited by finding the ideas behind the technology.

Some major responsibilities:

  • Create engaging customer stories by interviewing customers and subject matter experts, coordinating approvals and turning complex information into clear, audience-focused content.
  • Research, write and update website content, blogs, social media posts, newsletters and campaign content across multiple markets.
  • Lead EVP content planning and build a pipeline of employee stories that support employer brand and talent attraction initiatives.
  • Create and adapt content for internal and external audiences, using engagement insights to continuously improve performance.
  • Manage the editorial calendar, ensuring deadlines, approvals and publication schedules remain on track.
  • Coordinate social media content scheduling and publishing in line with approved strategies and brand guidelines.
  • Develop and adapt partner content that communicates shared value and customer outcomes across relevant markets.
  • Support event communications through content creation, editing and proofreading, including invitations, web copy, social content and follow-up communications.
  • Apply SEO principles and performance insights to improve content reach, relevance and engagement.

About You

You're the person who asks the third follow-up question in an interview, because that's where the real story is. You're curious, adaptable and highly organised, and you genuinely enjoy writing. You know how to uncover a great story, tailor messages for different audiences and create content that delivers results, all while balancing creativity, quality and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in communications, content marketing, journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong experience as a writer, storyteller and content creator, with excellent editing and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to write across a variety of formats, including long-form articles, customer stories, blogs, thought leadership content, newsletters, social media and campaign content.
  • Ability to adapt writing style, tone and messaging for different audiences, industries, regions and communication channels.
  • Experience creating content in a B2B, or technology environment is highly regarded.
  • Ability to interview stakeholders and translate technical or complex information into engaging, audience-focused stories.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across teams, regions and partner organisations.
  • A proactive, data-informed and collaborative approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience with HubSpot or Asana is favourably.
  • You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
  • Attitude and behaviour align with Esri Australia's core values.

See how our values shape our impact, and where your journey could begin: Our people.
