The Opportunity
As the Category Marketing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our product marketing efforts. Your responsibilities will span across product planning, marketing execution, stakeholder engagement, and organisational values. Role Responsibilities
1. Product Planning
· Contribute to Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute the Category marketing strategy and plan.
· Customer Insights: Understand customer needs and behaviours, incorporating competitor insights into the category marketing plan.
· Product Marketing Plans: Oversee the development of Product Marketing plans to enhance market penetration and strengthen our brand.
2. Product Marketing
· Positioning and Messaging: Manage product positioning and messaging within the category, effectively communicating Blackwoods capabilities and value to customers.
· Sales Enablement: Develop sales enablement tools that convey our value proposition and support the sales process.
· Launch Support: Collaborate with other marketing team members to create marketing requirements for new product launches and ranges.
· Reporting: Regularly report on Category Marketing plan status and results, ensuring stakeholders are informed throughout execution.
· Campaign Support: Provide category marketing support during promotional campaigns.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
· Communication: Be accountable for implementing the category marketing strategy and communicate actions effectively.
· Collaboration: Foster a team mindset of continuous improvement and solutions-focused problem-solving.
Skills Required:
· Tertiary/Bachelor Qualification in Marketing (Preferred)
· Proven experience in a product marketing or a similar role, preferably in a B2B business.
· Demonstrated project management skills.
· Ability to bring organisational values to life.
· Expertise in clear and effective verbal communication, including providing guidance and training to others.
· Proficiency in conducting research and analysing data to understand customer, category, and market conditions.
