We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Distribution Operations to lead our national distribution network and play a key role in shaping the future of our operations.
This strategically important leadership role is responsible for the performance, optimisation and transformation of our national distribution network. Leading a team of Distribution Managers and Continuous Improvement professionals, you will drive safety, service, productivity and customer outcomes across multiple sites nationwide.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a senior operations leader with a strong track record in operational excellence, combined with experience delivering strategic initiatives, network optimisation and large-scale transformation programs.
This role can be located in QLD, NSW or VIC
What you'll be doing
- Leading the performance of Blackwoods' national distribution network to achieve safety, service, productivity, inventory and financial targets
- Executing distribution strategy and network optimisation initiatives to support future business growth
- Driving continuous improvement programs, operational standardisation and Lean methodologies across the network
- Leading major transformation projects, including automation, systems enhancements and capital investment initiatives
- Building and developing high-performing teams through coaching, succession planning and talent development
- Partnering closely with Supply Chain, Sales, Procurement, Customer Service and Technology teams to improve end-to-end customer outcomes
- Supporting the growth of customer supply chain solutions and value-added service offerings
- Championing a strong safety culture and ensuring all operations are conducted safely and responsibly
About you
You are an accomplished operations leader with significant experience managing complex distribution, fulfilment, supply chain or logistics environments. You understand how to balance operational execution with strategic thinking and have a proven track record of delivering business performance through people, projects and technology.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has extensive leadership experience within distribution, logistics, fulfilment or large-scale multi site operational environments
- Has successfully led medium - large operational teams through change, transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Brings strong commercial acumen and can confidently manage budgets, performance metrics and business outcomes
- Has experience delivering major projects such as automation, systems implementations or operational optimisation programs
- Builds credibility through strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
- Leads with humility, accountability and a people-first mindset
- Is passionate about developing high-performing teams and creating strong succession pipelines
- Demonstrates a genuine commitment to safety and operational excellence
