YOUR OPPORTUNITY

 We have an exciting opportunity for someone keen to further develop their career with us, and step into a new role as a Purchasing Officer within our high performing National team!

You will be providing expert procurement solutions for our customers, and contribute to the execution of the Blackwoods supply chain strategy across the branches and DC network. You'll work closely with a supportive team and management to deliver and ensure stock availability, exceed customer service targets, and ensure cost efficiencies for the business.

 We're looking for someone to be based out of our Scoresby VIC office.

 Your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Review and execute replenishment plans, to meet future stock requirements and committed customer orders
  • Assist with reporting and analysis of key KPIs with a focus on root cause analysis and resolution
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal customers to improve data cleanliness and minimise data mismatches
  • Assist with demand planning, identifying opportunities to improve and forward forecast review
  • Build, review and approve supplier purchase orders, considering volume and freight discount opportunities
  • Development of relationship with vendor contacts to enable ease with updating purchase order despatch dates and identifying supply issues

  To be successful, you will have: 

  • Strong analytical ability with an interest in reporting
  • Skill in Excel, with experience in Power BI or MSBI being advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative skills in resolving understocked and overstocked inventory positions
  • Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics (e.g. Inventory turns)
  • Experience with DRP / MRP functionality and a background in forecasting, requirement determination and procurement advantageous
