Take Two provides a range of therapeutic services for infants, children and young people who have suffered trauma, neglect, and disrupted attachment, and contributes to the service system that provides care, support, and protection for children.

  • Ballarat office, Wadawurrung Country.
  • Part time 0.8 FTE, Ongoing position
  • Base Salary $103k- $106k pro rata (Dependent on experience) + Super & Salary Packaging

Your Opportunity 

This is an amazing opportunity to join an innovative and inspiring program in helping young people and their families understand trauma and the impact it has on attachment and developmental milestones, through short and long term therapeutic treatment.

Take Two is a state-wide service providing high quality therapeutic services to children and young people who have suffered significant abuse, neglect or disrupted attachment and are clients of Child Protection. Our Clinicians work with children, their caregivers, families and communities. We help them understand the child’s trauma, and how it’s impacting their development and behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

As a Take Two Clinician, you will carry a case load of clients including young people, their families and carers, who present at various stages of care.

Through assessment, treatment and closure, therapeutic work will range from short to long term, dependent on the needs and capacity of the client.

Working in a systemic and collaborative manner, you will use theories such as developmental, attachment and trauma theory to guide and develop individual treatment plans to help achieve goals for the young people and families within an appropriate time frame.

Your skills and experience 

We are seeking an experienced clinician who enjoys working within a multi-disciplinary team and are passionate about seeing young people and families reach their goals. A sound understanding of trauma and the impacts on attachment and developmental milestones for young people is essential.

You will hold a Bachelor degree level or higher qualification in a Health or Welfare related field such as Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Family Therapy, Speech Pathology, Art Therapy or related discipline, along with significant experience conducting clinical work with children. 

Experience within the Child Protection system or Out of Home Care sector will be highly regarded.
