The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and values‑driven Integrated Practice Leader to join our Family Violence Program within The Orange Door – Hume Moreland.

This pivotal role provides expert practice leadership across a multi‑agency, integrated service system responding to family violence, child and family vulnerability, and people using violence. Working closely with another IPL, Practice Leaders, Team Leaders and the Hub Manager, you will strengthen high‑quality, safe and coordinated practice across The Orange Door workforce.

You will draw on multiple practice frameworks including MARAM, Safe and Together, Best Interests, trauma‑informed and child‑centred practice, with a strong focus on intersectionality, inclusion and human rights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced practice leadership and secondary consultation on complex and high‑risk matters
  • Strengthen integrated, collaborative and evidence‑based practice across The Orange Door
  • Build workforce capability through mentoring, coaching, reflective practice and professional development
  • Support quality assurance, risk assessment and risk management aligned with legislation and practice frameworks
  • Contribute to the development of a culture of learning, reflection and continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and specialist services

What You’ll Bring

You’re an experienced and credible practice leader with a strong family violence background who thrives in integrated, multi‑agency environments. You bring deep practice wisdom, sound judgement and a calm, inclusive leadership style.

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience working in Orange Doors/Matrix model
  • Strong understanding of family violence dynamics, trauma, child development and the legal context
  • In‑depth knowledge of MARAM, the Family Violence Protection Act 2008, and the Child, Youth and Families Act 2007
  • Proven ability to embed intersectional and inclusive practice, including with LGBTIQA+ communities
  • Experience building workforce capability through practice leadership, mentoring and coaching
  • A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles in line with the minimum mandatory qualification requirements.
