Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is a family and community-based model of treatment for young people at risk of entering or who have recently entered out-of-home care. It aims to keep young people living safely at home, in school and out of the justice system.
MST is a holistic, therapeutic intervention with 35 years of research evidence. It also has the highest rating of evidence on California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare (CEBC), Blueprints Clearing Houses and Early Intervention Foundation.
The opportunity
As our Clinical Supervisor, you will lead a team of multi-skilled and highly trained MST Practitioners who work intensively with 4 to 6 families each for up to 6 months at a time. We aim to go beyond only working with the young person to working with the networks around them, such as family, school and neighbours to address the causes of behaviour to build the family's strengths and relationships. We empower parents and carers with the skills and resources they need to manage challenges independently offering families with 24/7 support.
Your Skills and Experience
You will be an experienced practitioner who has worked with caregivers, across multiple systems with a developed ability to implement interventions within or between systems in a young person’s ecology, including family, peers, school or work, activities or interests, and support services. Having an understanding and appreciation for engaging and collaborating with all relevant systems and key participants within the family and young person’s ecology to create shared goals and desired outcomes.
You will hold a Master’s degree in psychology, Social Work, or related subject area with significant experience in therapeutic settings, with Specific experience in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy and behaviourally based treatments preferred. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and play a critical role in providing both support and accountability in a leadership role.
