The Opportunity

Berry Street's Home Based Care program provides Complex, Intensive and General Home Based Care for children and young people who are unable to live with their own families and kinship care. Most children and young people are placed in out of home care following child protection intervention. A small number are in care on a voluntary basis. Voluntary and statutory placements can be of a short or long term nature.

Key Responsibilities

The Case Manager role will hold a caseload, providing case management intervention to provide preventative and secondary level support. You will be responsible for assisting families to strengthen their parenting capacity to build their child's safety, stability and development.

About You

You will have experience in outreach support and/or case management with young people. You require the capacity to understand, work and support young people, their family, carers and networks within a community environment and the skills to engage, negotiate and advocate.

You will require a completed tertiary qualification in Community Services, Education, Social Work or similar field. You will be a quick learner with high energy and commitment to your clients, yet able to work within the parameters of the role. You will need to be able to work flexible hours to provide a responsive service to your clients.

Experience undertaking contracted case management within DFFH, Child Protection or another similar agency will be looked on favourably.
