The Opportunity
The Berry Street School is a specialist independent school consisting of four campuses based in Ballarat, Morwell, Narre Warren and Shepparton. The Berry Street School promotes positive strengths-based team culture, support at all levels, inclusive environment with lots of PL opportunities. Work/life balance is encouraged and the campuses have small teams of multi-disciplinary professionals to fully support educators.
This role is fixed term - beginning in January 2022 in line with the new school year and finished is March 2024
Key Responsibilities
The Classroom Teacher will:
- Support the implementation of the Berry Street Education Model.
- With support from the leadership team, implement an engaging, inquiry-led curriculum.
- Team teach and work as part of a team and contribute to ongoing curriculum development.
- Attend professional development and whole school meetings as required.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Teaching/Education, hold a current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration and be able to work creatively to engage our young people in their education. You will understand of the importance of and have the ability to work in a team environment in this setting and have an understanding of the trauma informed positive education model approach.
