About Berry Street School

The Berry Street School is a specialist independent secondary school with four campuses located in Ballarat, Morwell, Narre Warren and Shepparton. We offer an adaptation of the Victorian Curriculum for years 7–10, and the Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCE VM) and Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) for years 11–12.

Our School exists to provide high-quality education to young people with a history of adverse childhood experiences who are at risk of disengaging from their education. Our students may have significant gaps in academic achievement and have found it difficult to learn in a group setting, presenting with complex behaviours.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking an Administration Officer to provide reception support and assist with general administrative tasks as required as a member of the Berry Street school at our Narre Warren Campus.

The Narre Warren campus has up to sixty students and the school has a close relationship with the families of each of our students. You will be a part of a small dynamic team of teachers, education support workers, wellbeing workers and psychologists, all focused on making a difference in the lives of our students and their families.

Each team member supports each other and being a flexible learning school we all share many of the responsibilities that arise each day. You will work closely with all members of the school community, both staff and students. This will involve training in the Berry Street Education Model and you will participate in professional learning and staff retreats with other team members.

About You

Our preferred applicant will have experience in administration and hold a minimum qualification of the following; Cert IV/ Diploma in Business Admin or above. 

You will be a fast learner requiring minimal supervision with solid accuracy and high attention to detail skills, along with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

We require you to have outstanding interpersonal skills as you are the first person that our community member will be interacting with on-site.
