Berry Street Yooralla is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to take a leadership role in shaping our financial integrity and operational excellence. In this pivotal position, you’ll go beyond routine accounting—driving robust financial controls, delivering accurate and timely reporting, and championing process improvements that strengthen our organisation.

You’ll lead and mentor a dedicated finance team, manage complex accounting challenges with confidence, and partner with stakeholders across the organisation to enable informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a small team, building capability and fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Drive month-end and year-end processes, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and statutory requirements.
  • Manage complex reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and investment reporting.
  • Implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
  • Act as a key contact for financial queries, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation.

About You

You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. You bring a strong technical accounting background and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. Your leadership style is collaborative and supportive, enabling you to mentor team members while driving high standards of performance.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting, including month-end and year-end processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, fostering a positive and inclusive culture.
  • Advanced skills in ERP systems and Excel, with a focus on process optimisation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and resilience in managing competing priorities.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or progress toward)
  • Experience in multi-entity or post-merger environments.
