The Opportunity!
Berry Street Yooralla the leading provider of disability and community services in Victoria, are launching a brand-new High Intensity Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program across five specialist schools. We’re looking for passionate educators to join our team and help create safe, inclusive, and engaging environments for children aged 5–18 with disability.
This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to support children and young people to thrive beyond the classroom, fostering learning, wellbeing, and choice in a fun and supportive setting.
Your Impact:
You’ll play a key role in building strong partnerships with families, schools, and communities—creating inclusive environments where every child feels supported and valued.
As an OSHC Educator, you’ll work under the guidance of the OSHC Coordinator to:
- Deliver programs aligned with My Time Our Place Framework, IncludeED@OSHC, and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
- Support children and young people with disability to participate in activities safely and confidently.
- Prepare activities, food, and safe spaces for sessions.
- Promote diversity and inclusion in a welcoming, fun environment.
- Build strong relationships with families and the school community.
- Ensure compliance with child safety, health, and wellbeing standards.
Work Hours:
- After School Care: 3pm – 6pm
- Vacation Care: 9am – 5pm
Is this You?
You’ll have a child-focused approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to create engaging activities in a safe, welcoming environment. Reliability, creativity, and teamwork are essential, along with the flexibility to respond to changing needs.
You will have:
- Knowledge of inclusion principles, child protection, and disability services.
- First Aid (including Asthma and Anaphylaxis) and food safety training.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
Qualifications or actively working towards certification under the Victorian ACECQA National Quality Framework such as;
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Certificate III in School Age Education and Care
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
- Diploma of School Age Education and Care
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood, Primary, or Secondary)
- Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood, Primary, or Secondary)
