Bene Aged Care is currently seeking a reliable, hands-on, and experienced Maintenance Officer (Handyman) to join our team on a full-time basis, primarily based at our St Agnes Residential Facility, with the flexibility to work across other Bene Aged Care sites as required.

About Your Role

As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out general handyman duties, repairs, and maintenance across buildings and equipment
  • Performing painting, patching, minor carpentry, and general upkeep tasks
  • Conducting preventative maintenance in line with organisational policies and procedures
  • Accessing Manad on Bene’s network to manage and respond to maintenance requests
  • Identifying maintenance issues and escalating works requiring external contractors
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities completed
  • Supporting maintenance requirements across multiple Bene Aged Care sites as needed
  • Participating in on-call duties as required

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in general building maintenance, repairs, and handyman work
  • Ability to undertake painting, minor repairs, and maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Willingness to travel and work across different Bene Aged Care sites when required

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in an aged care, healthcare, or community services environment
  • Test and Tag Certificate
  • Trade qualification or relevant maintenance experience
  • Italian language skills (advantageous but not essential)
