Bene Aged Care is currently seeking a reliable, hands-on, and experienced Maintenance Officer (Handyman) to join our team on a full-time basis, primarily based at our St Agnes Residential Facility, with the flexibility to work across other Bene Aged Care sites as required.

About Your Role
As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out general handyman duties, repairs, and maintenance across buildings and equipment
- Performing painting, patching, minor carpentry, and general upkeep tasks
- Conducting preventative maintenance in line with organisational policies and procedures
- Accessing Manad on Bene’s network to manage and respond to maintenance requests
- Identifying maintenance issues and escalating works requiring external contractors
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities completed
- Supporting maintenance requirements across multiple Bene Aged Care sites as needed
- Participating in on-call duties as required
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in general building maintenance, repairs, and handyman work
- Ability to undertake painting, minor repairs, and maintenance of equipment and facilities
- Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Willingness to travel and work across different Bene Aged Care sites when required
Desirable:
- Previous experience in an aged care, healthcare, or community services environment
- Test and Tag Certificate
- Trade qualification or relevant maintenance experience
- Italian language skills (advantageous but not essential)
