The Opportunity

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, Perioperative Services, you will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Central Sterilising Services Department and provide leadership, guidance and support to the CSSD team. You will work closely with perioperative nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the availability, quality and traceability of sterile instrumentation and equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating daily CSSD operations and workflow
  • Leading and supporting Instrument Technicians and CSSD staff
  • Monitoring compliance with Australian Standards and NSQHS requirements
  • Conducting audits and driving quality improvement initiatives
  • Supporting accreditation activities and clinical governance programs
  • Facilitating staff education, training and competency assessments
  • Contributing to policy, procedure and work instruction development
  • Assisting with workforce coordination and rostering activities
