The Opportunity
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE) to provide high-quality clinical care, education, and support to individuals living with diabetes, as well as their families and carers. As a primary point of contact, you will empower clients to self-manage their condition through evidence-based education, treatment planning, and behavioural change strategies.
LSL Cover - the role is 0.6 FTE fixed term from 8/12/25 – 18/1/26
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide client-centred diabetes education and management in line with ADEA standards.
- Accurately document comprehensive health assessments and maintain clinical records.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
- Adjust insulin and oral anti-diabetic medication regimens within scope of practice.
- Facilitate student education through supervision and clinical teaching.
- Contribute to policy development, quality assurance activities, and accreditation programs.
- Deliver education to other healthcare staff and participate in relevant research and professional activities.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Current Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE) status (ADEA).
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Sound knowledge of adult learning principles and chronic disease self-management strategies.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement.
- Current CPR and Infection Control training, with recency of practice in Basic Life Support.
