As a Grade 2 Pharmacist, you will deliver clinical pharmacy services that support optimal patient outcomes and align with Benalla Health’s organisational goals. This position involves direct patient care, medication reconciliation, collaboration with medical and nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with legislative and professional standards.
You will work in partnership with the Goulburn Valley Health Pharmacy Team and may be required to provide services across multiple settings, including hospital ward, urgent care, perioperative, community environments - HITH.
This maternity leave cover position is ideal for a pharmacist seeking experience in a regional health service or looking to contribute their skills within a close‑knit and community‑focused organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical pharmacy services to support patient safety and quality care
- Undertake and document best possible medication histories
- Perform medication reconciliation on admission, discharge and post‑discharge
- Develop and contribute to best practice medication management plans
- Liaise with Medical Officers to support compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (Standard 4 – Medication Safety)
- Support safe storage, handling, distribution and disposal of medicines
- Maintain accurate medication and stock records
- Contribute to infection control practices and quality improvement activities
- Assist with imprest management, individual patient supply and annual stocktake processes
Selection Criteria
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Demonstrated ability to perform medication reconciliation in a hospital environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and medication safety standards
- Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient‑centred care
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- National Police Check
- Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
- Evidence of current Influenza vaccination
